Let us help you.
The New England Quilt Museum is one of the best resources in the northeast for researching quilt and textile topics. In the near future, we are hoping to make our library catalog searchable online.
In the meantime, our library volunteers are here to help you with your research questions. Below are guidelines for asking specific kinds of questions.
For these or for general questions about specific books, topics, or patterns, email questions@nequiltmuseum.org or submit a Library Inquiry Form.
Pattern Requests, Quilting Assistance
A quilt pattern may be known by many different names. Please describe the pattern you seek in as much detail as possible. If you have a picture available, please send a copy or sketch by email, snail mail or fax. If the pattern you need was published recently, we will refer you to the appropriate book.
We will send your pattern through the U.S. Mail. Please provide your full name and mailing address. When your project is finished, we'd love to receive a snapshot!
If you need help in making a pattern, we will need to know a little more than just the pattern name. If you are requesting a pattern for your personal use and are not sure if it's within your capabilities, please let us know your level of experience.
If you live near enough to the museum to come in for further assistance with a particular aspect of your quilt, we might be able to arrange for you to meet an experienced quilter here. Please check ahead before coming.

Homework Assistance
Please allow a week or two for us to respond to your questions. We will be happy to send you a list of books that you can borrow from your local public library which relate to quilt history or whatever else your assignment happens to be. We know you'll enjoy learning about quilts and the stories they tell.
Travel Questions
If you are planning to visit the museum, please call or email questions@nequiltmuseum.org to say where you're coming from, when you plan to visit, whether you will be driving, and what else you might like to see in the area. We have helped quilters from around the country and around the world find their way here and have a wonderful time. If you need brochures about the museum, please submit your full name and mailing address.
