JUDY NIEMEYER TABLE RUNNER WORKSHOP
with Brenda Hall
Bradley and Judy Niemeyer designed the layout and foundation pieces for Seasonal Table Runners. A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units. Judy Niemeyer saw the ability in this technique for quilters with minimal previous experience to be able to create intricate and complex heirloom quality quilts. Curved piecing and traditional piecing are required to join and finish the quilt after the foundation piecing is completed.
In this workshop, led by Judy Niemeyer instructor Brenda Hall, you will learn a process for chain-piecing designed for foundation paper piecing. This process is possible because the fabrics have been pre-cut using templates designed for foundation paper piecing. Speed-cutting techniques for both paper and fabric, curved piecing, traditional piecing and pressing techniques that will enable you to speed up the process for foundation paper piecing, curved piecing, and traditional piecing will be taught.
The Seasonal Table Runner pattern is similar to that of the Autumn Splendor Quilt. If you would prefer, you may elect to make the quilt instead of the table runner. Both patterns are available through NEQM. Click here to take a look at the pattern information.
