FENWAY PARK CENTENNIAL
Quilts by Rosemary Bawn & Other Quilt Artists
March 29-July 8, 2012
"Other places have spectators," someone once said. "Fenway has 35,000 participants."
No one loves their ballpark more than Red Sox Nation. From Fenway Park’s opening in 2012 - when the Sox won the World Series - through to this year’s centennial celebrations, New Englanders have laughed about The Green Monster and wept over the Curse of the Bambino. What they have never been is neutral about either Fenway or their beloved Sox.
Now, just in time for the100th birthday party of this American landmark, comes Fenway Park Centennial, a quiltmakers’ celebration of our beloved ballpark. Co-curated by Vivian Lee Sayre and Rosemary Bawn, the exhibit brings together a collection of antique and contemporary art quilts that capture the excitement of 100 years of Fenway.
This is an exhibit not to be missed. Art quilt lovers will be entranced, and don’t forget to bring every baseball fan you know. They’ll never think of quilts — or Fenway — in the same way again!
Exhibit sponsored in part by Lowell Cooperative Bank

BACK STITCH
A 25-Year Retrospective of Advances &
Milestones in Quilting
July 12-October 14, 2012
As the New England Quilt Museum celebrates its Silver Anniversary in 2012, we look back in wonder, fascination and -- sometimes -- amuseument on all the changes in quiltmaking over the past 25 years.
From color to design to technique to the tools quilters use, the past quarter-century has seen more changes than the world of fashion or Detroit's automotive output.
Whether you're an avid quilter yourself or just a lover of this wonderful art form, you'll be fascinated to see how far we've come in 25 years. We'll also be thinking about where the world of quilting is going in future.
Be sure to attend the Lowell Quilt Festival as well (August 9-11, 2012), where very special guests Marianne Fons and Mary Fons will share their own unique perspective on quilting's past and future.
Exhibit sponsored in part by:
- The Quilter's Guild of Dallas
- Janome
Opening reception sponsored by:
- Cocheco Quilters Guild
